Our headquarters is located in Montgomeryville, PA, with a manufacturing facility in Suwanee, GA, and an innovation facility/warehouse in Manheim, PA. Join our dynamic team and contribute to the success of projects that play a critical role in advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Role Summary

The Aftermarket Sales Manager plays a critical support role within the Aftermarket team, partnering closely with the Director of Aftermarket to manage inbound and outbound sales activity and support revenue growth. This position is responsible for responding to customer inquiries, maintaining accurate data in HubSpot, coordinating pricing with vendors and subcontractors, developing relationships with key accounts, securing new customer base from key account and past customer base along with assisting in the development of proposals and closing deals. The Aftermarket Sales Manager ensures timely, accurate, and professional communication with customers while supporting forecasting and opportunity management.

The objective of this role is to grow the Aftermarket business. In addition to handling inbound requests, the position includes quarterly goals for proactively reaching out to past clients and key accounts to identify opportunities, upselling services, and present innovative solutions that can extend the lifespan of their cleanroom and reduce costs associated with unplanned shutdowns, and capital improvements.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Developing contacts and relationships for key accounts and past customer base.
  • Identify and target strategic accounts (repeat and new) for aftermarket services growth.
  • Each quarter, proactively contact at least 20 clients to generate new business opportunities, whether for Aftermarket services or identifying potential cleanroom projects for the sales team.
  • Conduct field surveys as needed to identify upgrades and preventive maintenance opportunities and to support project planning, proposal preparation, and client requirements.
  • Field and respond to inbound customer requests via phone, email, and other communication channels in a timely and professional manner
  • Enter, update, and maintain customer, opportunity, and activity data within CRM
  • Assist with opportunity tracking and sales forecasting to support Aftermarket revenue planning
  • Actively request pricing, lead times, and scope details from vendors and subcontractors to support solutioning of opportunity
  • Compile and organize pricing, scope, and supporting documentation for Aftermarket proposals
  • Formulate draft proposals for review and approval, by the Director of Aftermarket before releasing to client.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure accuracy of customer requirements, pricing, and delivery timelines
  • Follow up with customers on open requests and pending opportunities to maintain momentum and close deals
  • Attend and conduct in-person presentations to outline capabilities and solutions to support client needs
  • Support continuous improvement of sales processes, documentation, and CRM accuracy
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
  • Perform additional administrative and sales support tasks as assigned

Coordination with Aftermarket Project Execution Team

  • Working closely with the Factory, vendors and Execution team to coordinate scheduling to set client expectations
  • Developing execution approaches to support proposal development
  • Working with design/engineering if needed to support complexity of scope for details needed and as-built documentation
  • Attend meetings as required and ensure a smooth handoff from order receipt to the Project Manager for execution.
  • Maintain touch-points with customer and execution team to ensure project expectations, schedule and closeout have been successful

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3–5+ years of experience in sales, aftermarket sales, service sales, account management, or customer-facing commercial roles, project management construction related industry preferred, life science industry experience preferred
  • Experience supporting or managing parts, service, warranty, or maintenance contract sales preferred
  • Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline and contribute to revenue growth objectives Ability to travel occasionally as required (up to 25%)
  • Eager to learn and grow into more client-facing and direct sales responsibilities.
  • Experience working with CRM systems; HubSpot experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer requests, quotes, and follow-ups simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in quoting, pricing, data entry and documentation
  • Ability to analyze sales data, customer purchasing trends, and service history to proactively identify revenue opportunities.
  • Technical aptitude with ability to understand engineered systems and customer operational challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with owners, internal teams and external vendors
  • Comfortable requesting and negotiating preliminary pricing information with owners, vendors and subcontractors

Role Summary

The Sales Proposal Development Project Manager will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of AES Clean Technology by:

  • Managing the overall proposal process as defined in our new business acquisition (BA) platform and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Work closely with sales and operations team to develop scope, win strategy, estimating strategy and execution strategy.
  • Establishing a project management mindset in BA to manage and monitor KPIs related to Operations support, effort, close rate and spend.
  • Manage performance KPIs related to proposal development and submission.
  • Recommending and supporting process and efficiency improvements for proposal development
  • Developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality proposals that meet client requirements, including win themes and execution strategy, while allowing our sales team the ability to focus on the client facing engagements
  • Developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality presentations to support proposal presentation, and company capabilities.
  • Maintain Sales Team site with support from sales team, IT and work closely with marketing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in proposal development, project management, sales mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Duties/Responsibilities

Proposal Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, from initial kick off meetings to final submission, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Analyze information provided from request for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFI), and other solicitation documents to understand client requirements to support scope development, create a compliance matrix and identify key deliverables.
  • Support sales team by evaluating scope and project development relative to RFP outline and needs to support operations team to develop an approach in line with request.
  • Make sure Middle Game win themes and project execution strategy are clearly defined by the sales and operations team and outlined and incorporated for a complete proposal package.
  • Develop proposal strategies are clearly communicated in responses to create compelling and competitive proposals.
  • In partnership with BA and operations professionals, develop potential risks and challenges in proposal development and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively.
  • Write, edit, and review proposal content, including executive summaries, technical sections, project schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Work with marketing and ops team to develop new content (verbal and visual) to refine and clearly communicate intent within proposal

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with the sales team, project managers, engineers, construction, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and inputs for proposal development.
  • Create and maintain proposal schedules, ensuring all team members are aware of their responsibilities, deliverables and deadlines.
  • Manage proposal reviews and approvals, incorporating feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track and report on proposal progress, ensuring timely and accurate communication with all involved parties.
  • Manage spending and monitoring spending KPIs to monitor the cost of efficient BA activities
  • Manage performance KPIs for proposal efficiency
  • Establishing a project management mindset in BA to Recommending process and efficiency improvements for the entire proposal development process

Presentation Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end Presentation development, from proposal submission to support sales and operations team
  • Support capabilities presentation development and content with updates, BA win themes and differentiators, working closely with marketing, sales and operations.

Sales Team Site:

  • Manage Sales SharePoint structure, access, content, continuous updates.
  • Proposal file structure, organize, track, revision, submission of content.
  • Work closely with sales and ops to ensure proper files and backup are included in directory.

Client Interaction:

  • Interface with BA sales leads and potential clients during the proposal development process, addressing questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare in partnership with BA sales leads for client meetings, presentations, and site visits as needed to gather information and build strong client relationships.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop and maintain proposal templates, presentation databases, and best practices to streamline the proposal development process.
  • Conduct post-proposal evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned in future proposals.
  • Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform proposal strategies and ensure competitive positioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal development, project management, or a related role, preferably in the modular cleanroom or construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and winning complex multi-million-dollar proposal efforts.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
